Quick History :
Italian born Franco
Moschino had worked as an artist illustrating Collections
for the late Versace. He later decided to start his own
company and launched his first women’s designer range
in Milan in 1983 which got off to a storming start. It was
estimated that in the first year alone Moschino reached
a turnover of over £2 million, this is a staggering
amount for a new designer! Since then there has been no
looking back. By 1990 the company was generating over millions
of pounds following success in Europe, US, and the Asian
market too.
Moschino
is known as a man who shows no limits, no boundaries, his
advertising campaigns at designer shows often portrayed
provocative messages such as “Warning: fashion shows
can be dangerous to your health". Each show had a message.
"Life is many attitudes, so is fashion", and "Good
taste doesn't exist". So with all these messages he
was simply trying to tell us we are all individuals and
should not become a victim of fashion and retain one’s
individuality. He had a strong belief in respecting one’s
individuality and freedom of expression and not to be manipulated
by the media.
